"My Roots" sculpture made out of wood serves as a reflective interpretation of my cultural background which is composed of several ethnicities that come together to sprout one being. My identity is yet formulating as it is being shaped by my roots' embedded values in accordance with my environmental influence while growing up. The emphasized proportion between the self, represented by the sprout shaped head of the sculpture, and the family roots, represented by culturally patterned branches, plays a great role in emphasizing the depth and strength of the cultures that I come from.
